Jan Quellmann has been a partner at the firm since 2017 and advises national and international companies as well as individual inventors, particularly in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, measurement technology, computer and microprocessor systems, telecommunications, physics, and mechanical engineering.
He provides his clients with full-service support in all matters of intellectual property – from filing to defending IP rights, as well as in opposition, nullity, and infringement proceedings. Another key focus is strategic advice on third-party IP rights, including the preparation of validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.

Jan studied electrical engineering with a focus on telecommunications at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg. This was followed by several years of work in industry with a focus on development in electronic engineering. He completed his training as a patent attorney at the current firm (formerly Wenzel & Kalkoff), at the University of Hagen, at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) and at the Federal Patent Court from 2007 to 2010. He qualified as a patent attorney in 2010 and is a professional representative before the European Patent Office.
Jan Quellmann is an enthusiastic kite surfer and plays the piano and guitar in his spare time.
