Patent attorney with the firm since 2019. His clients are national and international companies ranging from start-ups to corporations. Theo Schubert’s main areas of expertise include biotechnological process engineering, wood and agricultural technology, as well as developments in water, air and land vehicles and sports equipment. He also provides comprehensive advice on trademark and design law as well as the German Employee Inventions Act.
The focus of Theo Schubert’s work as a patent attorney is on drafting, prosecuting and enforcing German, European and international technical IP rights (patents and utility models) as well as handling them in German and European opposition proceedings. Another focus of his work is the assessment and development of solutions in connection with competitor IP rights, which regularly includes FTO, infringement and validity opinions.

Vita

Theo graduated from the University of Hamburg with a degree in a specialised engineering program (wood industry). This was followed by positions in the paper industry in the field of process and energy technology and in the automotive industry (Volkswagen AG) in the field of component manufacturing. He completed his legal training as a patent attorney at STORK BAMBERGER from 2015 to 2018. During his training, he worked at a patent litigation chamber (Hamburg District Court), at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) and at the Federal Patent Court in Munich. He qualified as a patent assessor in 2018 and as a patent attorney in 2019. Theo is a professional representative (European Patent Attorney) before the European Patent Office.

Personal

In his free time, Theo Schubert is a sports enthusiast. Besides preparing for the triathlon, he can occasionally be found on the basketball court.
