Roots of Intellectual Property Protection in Hamburg
The history of the firm goes back to the beginnings of protection of intellectual property at the end of the 19th century, when the civil engineers Camillo and Resek in Hamburg began to take interest in the rapidly increasing use of trademarks and tradenames, even before the first national German Trademark Act came into force. As the Patent and Trademark Acts were introduced and executed, the profession of the patent attorney developed. Subsequently, the office of Camillo & Resek was continued by patent attorneys, namely the Patent Attorneys Koch und Dr. Pogge.
